Summary
The goal of the alerts in StockIQ is to bring awareness to problems that exist in your supply chain. The alerts are organized by module - Inventory, Forecasting, Purchasing, Supply, and Promotions. This article walks through what the various types of alerts are.

Definition
Alert Priority Definitions
Alerts are prioritized by how bad StockIQ believes the alert is. This is different for each alert, and can be seen by clicking the "Alert" button in any screen associated with an alert, such as Projected Excess or Projected Stockouts.
You can view the definition of each level of the alert within the Alert Settings window, which you can access by selecting the Alerts button in the upper righthand corner of the desired screen.
Alert Types
Here is a brief overview of where to find the Alert Settings for each of the alert types.
Inventory Alerts
- Stockouts - Possibly the most important inventory related alert. What are you out of that you don't want to be out of? See more in the Stock Outs Screen
- Excess - At the other end of the spectrum is the Excess Alert. Alerts you to excess that you need to deal with and try to reduce in any way possible. See more in the Excess & Overstock Screen.
- NewItem Alerts - New items are one of your major sources for excess or lost sales, since little is known about how the item will perform. The main screen for the NewItem alert is the New Items screen. You can read more about these alerts here.
- DeadStock Alerts- Dead stock hasn't moved in a long time, so try to get it moved and off the books somehow. The main screen for the DeadStock alert is the Dead Stock screen. You can read more about these alerts here.
- ItemSiteServiceLevel Alerts - Trackswhen an item is performing too far below its service level target. The main screen for the ItemSiteServiceLevel alert is the Service Level screen. You can read more about these alerts here.
- SafetyStock Variance Alerts - Tracks when the safety stock in use in StockIQ, either from an override or an ERP, varies by more than expected from the StockIQ calculated value, meaning you could be wasting money with too much inventory. The main screen for the SafetyStock alert is the Safety Stock screen.
- Slow Movers Alert - The main screen for the SlowMovers alert is the Slow Movers screen in the Inventory module.
- Inventory Expiration Alert - Warns you about large upcoming inventory expirations. The main screen for the Inventory Expiration alert is the Inventory Expiration screen. You can read more about these alerts here.
Forecast Alerts
- Under Forecasted Alert - Formerly Forecast Vs Actuals, this calls out items that are under forecasted, meaning you could be at risk of a future stock out. The main screen is the Under Forecasted screen.
- Over Forecasted Alert - Formerly baked into the forecast vs actuals alert, this alerts on items that are over forecasted, meaning you could be exposed to excess. The main screen is the Over Forecasted Screen.
- Forecast Error History Alerts- The main screen for the Forecast Error History Alert is the Forecast Error History Screen. You can read more about these alerts here.
- Forecast Vs Statistical Alerts - Also known as manual forecast alerts, this calls out when manual forecast error is a lot higher than the stat forecast would imply. The main screen for the Forecast Error History Alert is the Manual Forecasts screen. You can read more about these alerts here.
Purchase Alerts
- Projected Stock Outs Alerts - Warns when you are projected to be out of stock, as shown in the Projected Stock Outs screen. Learn more about the alert settings here.
- Projected Excess - Warns when you are projected to be in excess, as shown in the Projected Excess screen. Learn more about the alert settings here.
- Critical Order Alerts - The main screen for the Critical Order alert is the Place Orders screen in the Purchase module, and calls out orders you must place to avoid stockouts ASAP. You can read more about these alerts here.
- Plan At Risk Alerts- The main screen for the Plan At Risk alert is the Available to Promise screen. You can read more about these alerts here.
- Order Status Alerts - Warns when orders are not synced to the ERP and/or remain in Review or Hold statuses. The main screen for the Order Status Alerts alert is the Order History screen. You can read more about these alerts here.
Sales & Customer Alerts
- Backorders Alerts- The main screen for the Backorders alert is the Open Sales Order screen. You can read more about these alerts here.
- Unusual Sales Alerts - Alerts on high-value unusual sales. The main screen for this is the Unusual Sales screen. You can learn more about the alert here.
Supply Alerts
- LateOrders Alerts- The main screen for the LateOrders alert is the Supply Orders screen. You can read more about these alerts here.
- Large Min Mult - Warns when you have a large multiple relative to your order volumes. The main screen for this alert is the Large Min Mult Screen.
Promotion Alerts
All of the promotion alerts link into the promotion activity monitor screen. In all cases, they are related to promotions for an item that don't match previous characteristics, meaning it is difficult to predict their uplift and may need manual intervention.
- Promotion Length - StockIQ has not seen this length of promo for this item before.
- Promotion Depth - StockIQ has not seen this depth of promotion before, e.g. a larger or smaller discount.
- Promotion Frequency - Promotion is more or less frequent than they have been in the past.
