When looking at the Forecast Summary Chart in demand manager, you may not see any dependent demand or dependent forecast shown. This is due to the difference in how dependent forecast is calculated as a sum of parent assembly replenishment plans, versus normal independent forecast, which can be customer or forecast-group level of detail, from raw demand history.
Dependent Forecast is not shown at the item-site-forecast group level when you are forecasting via either Hybrid, or Customer-Centric methodology on an item. If your item is item-centric forecasted, then any dependent forecast will be shown.
The reason for this is that the dependent forecast can only be calculated at the item-site level, not for individual customers or forecast groups. This is because the dependent forecast is really due to the sum of all replenishment requirements on the parent assemblies of the item that you are looking at. The replenishment requirements (e.g. what you see in the order schedule suggested releases for the parent assemblies) are calculated only at the item-site level, since all the numbers required to calculate a replenishment plan, such as the order policy, safety stock, projected available, and so on, cannot be calculated on a customer-by-customer basis for each parent assembly - only one item-site level plan exists.
Therefore, when these plans are summed together and then applied down to the component according to a BoM, you can only see the result, the dependent forecast, at the item-site level, since there is no more detailed customer-by-customer or group-by-group resolution in those numbers.
If you want to be able to see the Dependent Forecast, make sure you have your Hierarchy Level set to "Site" in the Forecast Manager Display Options:
