- Add a forecast. How To: Add Item Forecasts
Steps/Process
When you make any edits to your forecast, you will notice that a blue "Save Forecast" button will become enabled at the top of Forecast Manager. This means that StockIQ is aware you have forecast changes that you may want to save:
When clicking this button, if your item is already on a manual forecast, nothing else happens other than StockIQ saving your forecast and applying whatever relevant changes that causes, such as recalculating replenishment plans etc.
However, if your item is currently on auto-forecast, you have some decisions to make, based on the edits you've made. StockIQ will ask if you want to flip to manual, or just reactivate auto-forecasting after your last edit:
Select the disaggregation method you would like to use from the available options. Using historical share or statistical forecast.
Top-Down Forecasting Considerations
If you are making forecast edits at a level of your hierarchy higher than the bottom, the possibility exists that you might have forecasts or forecast settings below where you're making your change. In this case, you have to decide if you want your top-down changes to "win", or if you want to honor specific lower-level changes that have been made.
StockIQ has a configuration screen for these options. Global Demand Forecast Settings
Troubleshooting
- You can set the disaggregation method default in the Global Demand Forecast Settings as well.
