Summary
The Saved Views screen shows every view that users have saved in StockIQ, across all users and all screens. From here an administrator can delete views, reassign them to another user, or share and unshare them. It is most useful for cleaning up the views of people who have left your organization, so they stop appearing in everyone's More Views list.
It is accessible by clicking Admin > System Configuration > Saved Views, under System > Users. You need the Administer Users permission to see it.
Built-in views that come with StockIQ are not listed and cannot be changed here. Users manage their own views from User Options.
Grid Columns
- Screen- The screen the view was saved on.
- Name- The name of the view, as it appears in the Views menu and in More Views.
- Owner- The user the view belongs to, with their login in parentheses.
- Owner Active?- Whether the owner's user account is still active.
- Shared?- Whether every user can see the view, or only its owner.
- Last Used- The last time anyone opened the view.
- Used By- How many users have opened the view recently.
- Default For- How many users open this screen on this view by default.
NOTE: StockIQ keeps view history for 180 days. A blank Last Used means nobody has opened the view in that time, and Used By only counts users who have opened it in that time.
Select one or more rows to act on them. Use the filter row at the top of each column to narrow the list.
Toolbar
- Reassign...- Moves the selected views to another user. Choose the new owner from the list of active users and click Reassign. Whether each view is shared does not change.
- Share- Lets every user see the selected views in their Views menu and in More Views.
- Unshare- Only each view's owner will see the selected views.
- Delete- Permanently deletes the selected views. StockIQ asks you to confirm first.
IMPORTANT: Deleting a shared view removes it for everyone, including users who open the screen on it by default. It cannot be undone.
NOTE: A user cannot own two views with the same name on the same screen. If the new owner already has one, nothing is reassigned and StockIQ names the views involved. Rename or delete one of each pair, then try again.
Cleaning Up After Someone Leaves
- Click Admin > System Configuration > Saved Views.
- In the filter row, set the Owner Active? column to false to list only views owned by inactive users.
- Check Last Used, Used By and Default For to see whether anyone still relies on each view.
- Select the views nobody needs and click Delete.
- Select the views your team still uses and click Reassign... to give them to someone who can keep them up to date.
TIP: Reassigning a view keeps it working for everyone who uses it, and lets its new owner edit or delete it later from User Options.
