Major Improvements & Features
Meet Edison!
Meet your new StockIQ assistant, Edison! The new Edison screen in the Home module is your one stop shop to get deep insights into everything StockIQ. Whether you are a demand planner, supply planner, or executive, Edison has insights for everyone!
You can see some fun recommendations on prompts to get started with Edison here.
You can also access Edison at any time through the "Ask Edison" coil icon at the top right of every screen. Similarly, some screens have the option to automatically get Edison insights for the available data and visuals.
NOTE: On any forecast chart you can select the coil icon to ask Edison to explain the forecast
If Edison's response is something you'd like to send yourself or share with your team, you can select the option to Email Edison Response and compose/send the email directly from StockIQ.
If you have a favorite prompt you'd like to reengage with regularly, you can select the Subscribe button to get insights on that topic sent to your email on a regular cadence of your choosing. Each day this email will tell you what's changed since the last update and allows you to hit a link to continue the Edison conversation in StockIQ.
Pop into the Edison Admin screen and add company-wide context, track usage, and update settings for Edison throughout the app for all users
Additionally, if you as an individual user have preferences or nicknames for how you do your work, you can add context in the Edison Preferences screen in User Options
Edison MCP Service
Edison can also connect directly to your Enterprise LLM so you can work with your StockIQ data right from your other everyday AI assistant. Once connected, your assistant can securely access only the StockIQ data your administrator has authorized.
You can read more about getting set up with our MCP Service - Getting Started, MCP Tool Reference, and MCP Security and Data Handling articles.
Report Subscriptions
Have a favorite report in StockIQ that you like to regularly share with your team? Now you can set up an email subscription to have that report show up in your inbox at the interval of your choosing. No need to go into StockIQ and export anymore
When you select the clock icon on the top right corner of a report grid, the report subscription dialog appears to help you configure the following:
- Recipients and optional CC's
- Delivery frequency, start and end dates
- How you'd like the content delivered (including if we should save your filter and layout preferences)
- Whether or not you'd like Edison Insights delivered along with your report
If Edison Insights is selected, you have the option to Evaluate Over Time to keep track of trends tied to the selected report for your specified day range
The "Manage Subscriptions..." button within the subscription dialog allows you to see, edit, and/or delete any existing subscriptions. Additionally, you can manage subscriptions in either the Report Subscriptions screen or in the User Options screen
Some screens that you can begin subscribing to include Custom Reports, Alerts Summary, Projected Excess, Projected Stockouts, Inventory Aging, New Items, Slow Movers, and Order Policies among others.
Updated Public APIs and Rate Limiting
Our development team has completely overhauled our public APIs for improved performance and usability.
API traffic is rate limited so that one busy integration cannot slow your instance down for everyone else. You can read more about the rate limiting in the REST API Access Article. If you run into rate limits, we suggest consolidating your API requests, or you can contact support to chat through your alternative options
Note that these limits apply only to API-token traffic. Signed-in users working in the StockIQ web application are not rate limited, and their activity does not consume your integration's allowance.
Cash Flow Report & Payment Terms Support
The Cash Flow Dashboard in the SIOP module projects when money leaves the business to pay suppliers and when it arrives from customers, day by day, using each order's payment terms. It answers three questions for a finance or S&OP lead:
- How much cash goes out and comes in, and when? Payables (AP) and receivables (AR) per day, week or month, with net and cumulative net.
- How much of that is committed? Firm orders alone, firm plus StockIQ's planned purchases, or firm plus planned plus forecast sales.
- Who is it owed to, or owed by? The top 10 suppliers and top 10 customers, each with a drill-in by period.
Audit Trail
The new Audit Trail screen in the Admin module allows admins to see at a glance what records have been changed by other users throughout StockIQ. Instead of the old internal "who dunnit" process, you can now identify which records were changed, when they were changed, and what values they were changed from.
Capacity Planning
The new Capacity Planning screen in the Purchase module now lets a planner find which production lines are over capacity soon, rebalance them automatically, test what-if capacity, and save the result with a lock that keeps the balance in place. The screen measures planned production against each resource (a production line or work center, tied to one supplier) in the resource's own capacity periods. This screen has the ability to:
- Over-capacity filtering by horizon, so the resource that is over next week stands out from the ones that are over in six months.
- Target utilization per resource, so "over" means over the share of capacity the plant is willing to load, not just over 100%.
- Level Load, a wizard that moves planned production out of overloaded periods into periods with slack.
- Simulate Capacity, a what-if wizard that shows the plan against capacity the line does not have yet.
- Lock scope on save, so a level-loaded plan is not undone by the next nightly Calculate.
Per-Period Forecast Locks
Originally, a forecast's manual control was a single "auto-resume" date. Every period before that date was treated as manual and every period after it went back to StockIQ's statistical forecast. Editing one period in the middle meant everything up to that point became manual. Now each period a user edits is locked on its own. All the other periods stay under auto (statistical) control and keep updating on each Calculate. Now you can enable a setting so each period you edit is locked on its own, and StockIQ keeps re-forecasting every period you haven't locked, before or after the locked ones. Saving a manual edit doesn't switch the whole item to manual. You can lock or unlock periods by right-clicking them in the Forecast Manager grid. Locked periods show a lock icon in the grid and a pinned marker on the chart, and the Settings tab lists them with Unlock and Unlock All options. When you unlock a period, its forecast goes back to the statistical forecast as soon as you save.
How this appears in Forecast Manager:
- Locked grid cells show a lock icon, and edited cells get a green "edited" flag.
- Right-clicking a period locks or unlocks it. This works in both the Summary (YoY) and Trend grids.
- On the chart, locked points show as pinned markers.
- The Settings tab lists the locked periods, with Unlock on each row and an Unlock All button.
- The Save dialog adjusts to the current mode. When you unlock a period, saving reapplies the statistical forecast right away, so you don't have to wait for the next Calculate.
- In per-period mode, the resume-date controls are hidden because they no longer do anything.
You can enable this functionality in Global Demand Forecast Settings
Import Quality Logging
The newly revamped Import screen in the Admin module now contains an Import Quality Tab. By selecting the Import Quality tab, Edison can give you insights on actions that can be taken in the data extracts to improve the data coming into StockIQ
Lost Sales Projection Report
While our existing Lost Sales screen only reports on past lost sales, the new Lost Sales Projection screen estimates the quantity, revenue, and other metrics each item-site is likely to lose due to stockouts in future periods. Additionally you have the ability to export the report, receive Edison insights, or subscribe to this report on a cadence of your choosing
New Item Age Map
We've added a tab to the New Items screen called the New Items Age Map. This bubble chart shows item-sites by age so you can see at a glance how new items are doing compared with each other and, optionally, with more established items.
You can adjust the plot parameters in Display Options to show age, total hits, hits per day, customers, ship-tos, daily usage, on-hand and excess $, usage pattern, inventory position, and ABC/XYZ class. By default the chart only item-sites whose usage pattern is currently New, but you can toggle the option to show Established items
Additionally, you may see details on a given item-site in the tabs below by double clicking the bubble you'd like to investigate
Supplier Review Report
The Supplier Review is a new one-supplier report on the Vendor Scorecard screen, meant for a buyer to bring to a meeting with that supplier. Select a supplier and click Supplier Review on the Overview tab, and Edison writes a short narrative following the scorecard tabs. It covers on-time delivery, completeness, lead-time drift and late or early receipts, citing specific POs. You can also subscribe to get the full report by email on a schedule. The email version adds monthly trends, worst items, receipt evidence and a comparison with earlier reviews. Checking External-safe before you generate or subscribe leaves out rank, share of spend and exclusion counts, so the review can be shared with the supplier.
Custom Fields
In previous versions of StockIQ, there were only a handful of fields that could be used to pull in custom data from the ERP (ex: Item ERP Notes, Item Site ERP Notes). Now we've added the dynamic ability to include custom fields on any of our data extracts in the Custom Fields screen. While we expect that the majority of fields will be mapped from simple string, boolean, or numeric fields, there is also the capability to add basic calculated fields for data such as lead time. If you would like to discuss how to better map data from your ERP into StockIQ, please reach out to StockIQ Support.
