Summary
The Default Lead Time Settings screen provides the rules used for lead times on items that have no specific item-site-supplier or supplier-site override.
There are boxes to set behavior for each of the four lead times:
- Admin
- Manufacturing
- Shipping
- Putaway
By default, these are set to "Host Provided", meaning we use whatever lead time is provided in the ERP integration, which is typically a combination of values from your ERP, and likely some business logic contained in the integration itself.
Column Description
- Host Provided - Lead times from the ERP/integration are used, as mentioned above. In the case where certain lead times are not provided (e.g. NULLs in the data), StockIQ will fall back on the global default lead times specified in the Global Lead Time Settings.
- Calculated - Lead times calculated by StockIQ are used when available. This requires that we are getting receipt history data on an IncomingShipment data feed, and also requires that an individual item-site-supplier has at least the minimum number of receipts (5 is default) to be considered as having enough data to calculate a lead time. If not enough data is available, StockIQ falls back to the ERP provided lead times.
- Host Value When Provided - StockIQ will preferentially use the host-provided lead times if they are present. If they are left null, StockIQ will try to use StockIQ calculated LT's. If those are not available, StockIQ will fall back on the global defaults.
- Highest - Longest of the StockIQ vs ERP/Host LT's will be used
- Lowest - Lowest/Shortest of the StockIQ vs ERP/Host LT's will be used.
- Fixed Value - Generally used only for overrides, this allows specifying a fixed number of days. In the context of default LT settings, the only time to use this might be for a default admin or putaway lead time, it would not be recommended to use a fixed static default for shipping or manufacturing time in all but very limited scenarios.
