The Global System Settings screen has some high-level system configuration values in it that control some basic system features.
It is accessible by clicking Admin --> System Configuration --> System Settings
IMPORTANT: It is possible to cause data loss and other problems by mis-configuring options in this screen, so if in doubt, please contact StockIQ Support for assistance.
The options herein are as follows:
-
Support Emails - 1 or more email addresses that you wish for StockIQ to email automatically when there are issues, such as data extract problems or refresh failures. Normally you can leave this as the default StockIQ support address. In environments, where StockIQ does not have remote-desktop access, it is recommended you set this to an internal IT person or distribution list.
- NOTE: We generally recommend not to use an internal ticketing system, as then StockIQ's help desk and your help desk can get caught in a loop of emailing their email/update confirmations back-and-forth.
- Support Url - Reserved for future use.
- Default Culture / Localization - Sets the default culture and localization settings for your instance of StockIQ, such as for formatting numbers and dates. A related setting is the system time zone setting in the Global Date Settings screen.
- Default Currency - Sets the default base currency that the system will assume when currency values are not available specifically in data feeds. This must be a 3-leter ISO code, e.g. "USD", or "EUR" etc.
- Currency Decimals - Sets the default exponent (precision) on currency values shown. Some currencies, such as the Japanese Yen (JPY), do not use any value after the decimal point.
- Log Level - Reserved for future use.
- Max Degree of Parallelism - A setting that can be used to throttle CPU usage if required for your environment. Can be left blank for maximum performance.
- Default Volume Unit of Measure - allows specifying a default UoM for Cube volumes. Not normally necessary to set.
- Default Weight Unit of Measure - allows specifying a default UoM for weight quantities. Not normally necessary to set.
- Database Maintenance Frequency - StockIQ performs automatic self-maintenance of the database in the form of index rebuild/reorganization, and statistics updates. Typically weekly is good enough for this process, which means it will run every Sunday morning.
