The Global Date Settings screen contains a few basic settings for how date information is interpreted and used in StockIQ.
It is accessible by clicking Admin --> System Configuration --> Global Date Settings
IMPORTANT: It is possible to cause data loss and other problems by mis-configuring options in this screen, so if in doubt, please contact StockIQ Support for assistance. StockIQ will re-set and re-create date tables based on some of these changes, so be VERY CAUTIOUS updating these values.
The settings are as follows:
- System Time Zone - This sets what you wish your "home" time zone to be for the StockIQ instance. Generally, you will want this to be the time zone of your organization. This setting allows all date and times to be interpreted in terms of a common time zone, regardless of where an individual user may be setting, or the what the system time zone setting is.
- Calendar Week Rule - Different organizations do different things for the start-of-week. Use this option to set how your organization counts weeks. This particularly will matter for end-of-year and beginning-of-year, where you might have a 53-week year etc.
The settings below should only be changed with extreme care:
- Past Years Of Data - How many past years of data to retain, such as possible demand history etc.
- Future Years of Data - How many future years of data to allow, such as when forecasting etc.
