The Global Order Policy Settings provides two quick settings that control how order policies are resolved in StockIQ.
It is accessible by clicking Admin --> System Configuration --> Global Order Policy Settings.
Assign By .... - These checkboxes set the level of resolution at which order policy rule sets are created. You can create one set of rules (no checkboxes checked), or, have different rule sets by the various options.
While this allows a large degree of flexibility, it also means that there are more matrixes of policy settings to maintain, so focus on the attributes that are most important to you and your business.
- Price Tier - An order policy/SL matrix is available by different price tiers, e.g. you can target policies for inexpensive and expensive items differently.
- Site - A matrix is available for different sites. For example, you may wish to have different order policies or SL targets for your hubs vs your spokes.
- Shipper - Used primarily in 3PL situations, allows to to set stocking policies by 3PL client. Not commonly used.
- BoM Position - Allows you to define order policy / SL matrix by an item's position in the BoM, e.g. top, mid, or bottom level items.
- <Categories> - Allows you to set your matrix by any of your available categories.
When you check more of these, you will see more combinations listed in the StockIQ Order Policy Settings Matrix screen where you can then make settings changes for each combo, such as Price Tier 1, Site HUB, etc.
Default Order Policy - this global fallback is used when StockIQ cannot find any matching order policy information to assign to an item.
