Summary
While working on an order in the Place Orders screen, you can save your ordering session and come back to it at a later time.
Process
Saving a Session
You can save a session from Step 2 of Place orders, using the "Save Session" option in the Place Orders Edit Menu. It will open a dialog where you can save your session and give it an easy-to-remember name:
You can continue working on your order, or close your window and come back later. If you try to use the same name you've previously used, you will get an error message.
If you continue working and want to re-save your order, you can save over the top of your saved session as you go using the new menu option that appears when you are working with a loaded session:
WARNING: Saving a session becomes unavailable once you do container loading, as the container line splits cannot be deterministically re-created and re-loaded.
Loading a Session
To re-load a saved session, open Place Orders, and in step 1, click the Load button to display the load session dialog.
You saved session is displayed, along with the date you created it, number of lines, and the current cost of that order. Click load to load the order, or delete to delete it.
When you click the "Load" button, StockIQ will move to Step 2 of the Place Orders screen so you can see your order and continue editing it.
IMPORTANT: When loading the order, StockIQ will update any dates on the order so that they are current. For example, if you saved an order on Monday, and came back to it Friday, the ship date and receipt dates calculated by StockIQ are no longer valid, so these dates will be updated whenever the order is re-loaded.
Load Options
A couple options exist when you re-load your session:
- Update Originally Saved Quantities to Current - When enabled, in addition to updating the dates to be synced with your current day, StockIQ will re-evaluate the order quantities on the lines in your order, so that if you now need additional (or less) quantity versus what was needed at the time the order was saved, your recommendations are updated.
- Update User-Modified Quantities - This option appears when you check the first box, and also gives you the option to update any lines for which you've made a quantity edit. Otherwise, any quantities you have edited when the session is saved are unmodified from your saved values.
- Add New Suggested Items To Order - When enabled, StockIQ will also evaluate if any new items are now recommended for ordering since when your order was saved, and will add those to your order when it is reloaded.
