Summary
The Service Level Analysis screen provides the ability to compare the projected safety stock level at various service levels for a given item. This allows you to do a "what-if" analysis on the potential financial impacts and inventory level of increasing or decreasing service levels ranging from 55% to 99.9999%.
This screen contains grid and pivot views of the data.
Column Descriptions
- Item - the Item Code being evaluated.
- Site - the Site Code of the item being evaluated.
- ABC - the classed stratification for this item-site, representative of the relative importance of the item in relation to your business.
- Target SL % - the service level target to be used for safety stock calculations on this line.
- Stat SS - the chosen statistical safety stock, in units, based on the settings in your Default Statistical Safety Stock Settings.
- Std SS - the standard safety stock, in units, calculated based on the provided service level.
- LRP SS - the large regular pull safety stock, in units, calculated for the item-site. This safety stock does not use service level in its calculation.
- Sporadic SS - the sporadic safety stock, in units, calculated based on your sporadic safety stock settings, if applicable. This safety stock type is disabled by default.
- Retro SS - the retrospective safety stock, in units, calculated based on your retrospective safety stock settings, if applicable. This safety stock type is disabled by default.
- Stat SS $ - the chosen statistical safety stock expressed in its inventory value based on the item's cost.
- Std SS $ - the standard safety stock expressed in inventory value based on the item's cost.
- LRP SS $ - the large regular pull safety stock expressed in inventory value based on the item's cost.
- Sporadic SS $ - the sporadic safety stock expressed in inventory value based on the item's cost, if applicable.
- Retro SS $ - the retroactive safety stock expressed in inventory value based on the item's cost, if applicable.
The pivot view in this screen has the same available columns and information but is best used for a quick visual comparison of higher-level groups, like your ABC classes. By default, this view will display the ABC classes on the vertical axis and service levels on the horizontal axis.
Context Menu
When you right-click on a row in the grid view, will have the following options:
- Inventory Snapshot - provides item-site attribute information.
- Inventory Exchange Curve - displays a graph specific to this item-site on how safety stock changes with service level changes.
- Forecast Chart - a visual of the item-site forecast, this is the same as what you would see in the Forecast Manager.
- Sawtooth Chart - the sawtooth diagram for this item-site.
- Item-Site Notes - allows you to view or add an item-site note that are on this item.
