The global life cycle settings screen allows you to configure some high-level settings for life cycles in your StockIQ instance.
Access it by going to Admin --> System Configuration --> Global Life Cycle Settings
The settings are as follows:
Life Cycle End Threshold - This is the threshold for when a life cycle starts and ends. To consider a product "dead" there must be some activity level under which the item is considered at end of life. Less than 5% of its peak volume is the typical threshold. Note that this threshold is also used for beginning-of-life as well. This helps to filter out tiny blips due to samples or other one-off sales possible at the beginning of an item's sale life.
Min Cycle Length - What is the minimum length StockIQ should consider to be a valid life cycle?
Max Cycle Length - What is the maximum length StockIQ should consider for a life cycle. This can be more important on "long" life cycle items, since it may determine how long of a life cycle SIQ will possibly calculate for items in a particular group.
Aggregation Hierarchy Level - This sets the level at which the life cycles are calculated. For example, even if you are doing Hybrid forecasting, that may be too granular of a level to see overall product life cycle activity, so you might want the life cycles to be calculated on item-site data. Or, you may even want life cycles calculated by Item activity across all sites. This option sets that level of data summation.
Auto Create - Highest Hierarchy Level - StockIQ will auto-create life cycles for you and make them available in the Life Cycle Settings Tab. This box sets the HIGHEST level in your hierarchy at which SIQ will auto-generate the life cycles. It must be above your Aggregation Hierarchy Level. So, if you are calculating life cycles on a item-site basis, you might set this to "Product Group" (or similar), so that you have a life cycle generated from all
Auto Create - Lowest Hierarchy Level - StockIQ will auto-create life cycles for you and make them available in the Life Cycle Settings Tab. This box sets the LOWEST level in your hierarchy at which SIQ will auto-generate the life cycles. It must be above your Aggregation Hierarchy Level. So, if you are calculating life cycles on a item-site basis, you might set this to "Item", so your lowest auto-created life cycle is for all life cycles found at the item-site level, for a given item.
