Summary
If you are using co-manufacturers, then StockIQ can help with planning your DC based on co-man production behavior.
In a typical co-man arrangement, you will place a combination PO/WO to the co-man. They will produce the inventory, and when complete, it will appear as on-hand in a site dedicated to tracking on-hand at that co-man in your ERP.
However, this does not automatically provide a plan for your DC, since no order is automatically created showing that the inventory on this PO/WO will ultimately end up in your DC.
Steps
StockIQ can automatically create this link. Let us consider an example with a coman Tyrell Corporation, going into your main site, called MAIN.
You place a PO to Tyrell, POWO123, which is set for receipt into site TYRRELL.
If the site TYRELL is marked as a co-man site, StockIQ will look for a hub-spoke association between TYRELL and MAIN. If we find it, we will create an implied/assumed transfer from TYRELL to MAIN based on the expected completion date of your PO/WO and your transit time between sites. This provides visibility for MAIN into what will be arriving, thus helping you know more accurately what is really required in MAIN.
Similarly, if a PO/WO has previously been completed and received into TYRELL, StockIQ will create an assumed/implied transfer of that inventory to your MAIN site, again, so you have visibility to what is available to you in your MAIN site.
To configure this behavior, all that's required is marking the site appropriately, and ensuring that a single hub/spoke relationship exists between the sites. Contact StockIQ support for help in configuring this feature.
