StockIQ Release Notes (v2026.11.03) - All Changes
Major Enhancements
Edison Updates
- You can now subscribe to Edison briefing emails from the Executive Summary: weekly from the Opportunity & Investment, Overview and Weeks of Supply tabs, and monthly from the Burn Down and Last Used tabs.
- Edison briefing emails now warn you when your organization's Edison allowance is running low, tell you when a briefing is paused because it is used up, and still arrive with the underlying numbers if Edison is briefly unavailable.
- Edison answers now point you to the related StockIQ screen, and links to Projected Excess and Inventory Aging open already filtered to what you asked about, including from emailed and saved conversations.
- Edison can now explain how a forecast is split across the levels below it, comparing the current split with the calculated planning bill.
- Edison chooses the right tools more reliably for multi-step questions.
- Edison now keeps every answer, including order, supplier, alert, slow mover and order policy answers, within the sites, suppliers, buyers and categories your login is allowed to see.
- Edison can now report forecast accuracy at a fixed horizon, such as your lag-3 wMAPE over the last six months, along with bias and forecast value added.
- Edison can now project a year's sales for a set of sites, combining actual sales to date with the forecast for the rest of the year.
- Edison can now point you to settings screens that are grids, such as Item-Site Replacements, when you ask where a setting lives.
- The Usage tab on the Edison Admin screen now splits each user's credits by what used them: chat, insights, report subscriptions and insight subscriptions.
Forecasting
- Period Locked Statistical Forecasts - A new Statistical Forecast Updates option in Global Demand Forecast Settings lets you choose Period Locked, which holds each item's statistical forecast steady between scheduled regenerations so buyers can plan against numbers that don't move every night. Unlike per-period locks mentioned in the Release Notes (v2026.10.13), which hold your manual edits, Period Locked holds StockIQ's own statistical forecast: you set a Weekly or Monthly cadence per node on the Forecast Settings tab and the day of the month it regenerates, and the trend chart shows when each forecast was generated and when it regenerates next. When you want fresh numbers sooner, use Refresh Stat Forecast in Forecast Manager for selected nodes, or Regenerate All Statistical Forecasts.
Seasonality Updates
- Standard seasonal patterns can now use each item's Max Years History and Previous Year Weight when you turn on Apply Max Years & Previous Year Weight To Seasonal Shape in Global Demand Forecast Settings.
- A new Seasonality - Shrink When Years Disagree setting pulls a month's seasonality gently back toward normal when past years disagree, instead of flattening it completely.
- Highly seasonal trends are more accurate because they now set aside an unusual most recent year and a product's launch ramp, and the Linear Regression trend option has been retired in favor of the method that consistently forecast better.
Inventory
- Stock Out Policy - A new Stock Out Policy panel in Global Inventory Limits decides, in one place, which stockouts count everywhere in StockIQ: on the Stockouts and Projected Stockouts screens, their alerts, the Planner Dashboard and Buyer Scorecard, report subscriptions and Edison. Four checkboxes choose whether items with zero safety stock, items with non-stock order policies, replaced items and never-stocked items count, replacing the separate options each screen used to have. Items with zero safety stock now count by default, so your stockout totals may rise; you can change that in the policy at any time.
Settings & Administration
- Saved Views - The new Saved Views screen in Admin > System Configuration lets administrators see every user's saved views in one place, and delete, reassign, share or unshare them, which makes cleaning up after someone leaves quick and safe. Each user can also check Show only my views in the More Views dialog to hide views other people have shared, and StockIQ remembers that choice on every screen.
Minor Enhancements
Forecasting
- New installations now default trend damping to High, which lowered forecast error in testing, and we recommend existing customers consider switching to High as well.
- Setting a node to Not Forecasted now warns you when an item-site replacement copies its forecast from that node, and lets you cancel.
- The Forecast Manager hierarchy tree now keeps its configured order instead of sorting nodes alphabetically.
- Saved Forecast Manager views now show and hide the correct chart series when two series share a name.
- Every average forecast error percent in StockIQ is now labeled wMAPE (weighted mean absolute percent error), including on the Forecast Error tab in Forecast Manager, the Forecast Error screen, Forecast Snapshots, Manual Forecasts, Overforecasted, Underforecasted, the Home dashboard and Tournament Results; the calculation is unchanged and was labeled MAE% before.
- The RMSE error calculation option has been retired, so forecast error, statistical safety stock and XYZ classes always use wMAPE, and an instance that was set to RMSE may see its safety stock and XYZ classes shift after its first calculate.
- A new Forecast Error Lag setting in Global Demand Forecast Settings chooses which past forecast error is judged against: Auto (lead time), the default, works as before, or you can pick a fixed lag of 1 to 12 periods.
Replenishment & Ordering
- Container round-down now brings an order down to whole containers more reliably, even when the starting fill is spread thinly across several containers.
Inventory
- The Safety Stock screen adds an SS Forecast Error % column showing the forecast error StockIQ used to calculate each item-site's statistical safety stock.
Supply
- On the Vendor Scorecard, Get Insights for all suppliers now sits beside the page title and ends by suggesting which suppliers to review first, and the Supplier Review's Subscribe button now sits with its other actions.
- A new Email Me button on the Supplier Review sends you one copy of the review without setting up a subscription.
Data Import & Integrations
- Data Quality Settings adds five new checks that flag vendor supplier costs that are missing, far from the item's cost or in a currency StockIQ can't convert, items priced below cost, and negative on-hand.
- Integration Configuration and Custom Exports can now send and receive files through Amazon S3.
- The public API adds an endpoint that returns each item-site's independent, dependent and total forecast by period.
Settings & Administration
- The Calculate, Import and Full Refresh screens now show new sessions and live progress as they run, without refreshing the page.
- Starting a data refresh now reports an error when the refresh can't be launched, instead of appearing to succeed and doing nothing.
- API and MCP token expiration alerts now send one email to each recipient and stop 14 days after a token has expired.
- The Custom Fields screen now explains when new fields and values appear, and links to a Help Center article listing which screens show each kind of field.
User Interface
- The Filters button now turns amber and shows a count whenever filters are applied, with a tooltip listing them, on Forecast Manager, Stockouts and the Inventory, Replenishment, Forecast, Sales, Supply, Promotions and SIOP screens, Home, Executive Summary, Alerts and the Admin reports, and Forecast Manager adds a one-click way to clear its chart data filters.
- Grids no longer quietly remember filters and layouts in your browser between visits, so screens keep their layout through Saved Views and dialogs offer a Save Grid Columns button that never carries filters from one record to the next.
Performance
- Faster nightly processing and quicker forecast and service level reports, especially for large databases.
- Behind-the-scenes security and reliability improvements, including safer handling of stored credentials and StockIQ's own support accounts, clearer error reporting to our support team, and fewer repeated support alerts when a scheduled task keeps failing.
Major Bugs
- Imported forecasts replace older imports again - A forecast import stopped clearing a node's older imported forecasts once the node had a future automatic forecast, so out-of-date imported numbers could stay in place. Imports clear them again, and settings a planner saved on the node are kept.
- Full Refresh tells you when it can't run - Pressing Full Refresh could do nothing, with no message, when the StockIQSync process could not start or stopped right after starting. You now see an error, and our support team is alerted.
- Place Orders works again for non-admin users - Users without administrator rights saw an "unable to load vendors" error in Place Orders and could not open its Lead Times tab or Inventory Exchange Curve. These now load for everyone allowed to use the screen.
- Scheduled ERP order processing runs again - A permissions change stopped the scheduled task that processes supply orders in your ERP. It now runs normally.
- Supply order line status from your ERP is honored - Imported supply order lines ignored the line status sent by your ERP. They now keep it, so lines your ERP has closed no longer show as open.
- Container round-down keeps the full order quantity - Rounding an order down to whole containers could lose part of a split quantity. The full quantity is now kept, and StockIQ tells you when an order can't be rounded down.
- Security improvements for integrations - We strengthened how StockIQ handles the credentials and connection settings you enter for your ERP and data integrations.
- Safety stock overrides honor Stock to Cumulative Lead Time - Standard safety stock ignored the Stock to Cumulative Lead Time setting for items with a safety stock override. It now applies it, and an override with no Stock to Cumulative Lead Time value, whether from a blank cell or a file without that column, now takes the value from your Default Safety Stock Settings.
- Screens keep their data when a background refresh fails - If StockIQ failed while reloading its cached data, screens could come up empty until the next restart. StockIQ now keeps the previous data until a reload succeeds.
- Vendor Scorecard loads without errors - The Vendor Scorecard could fail with a "query processor ran out of internal resources" error. It now loads, and its XYZ class filter now filters the Receipt Completeness chart correctly.
Minor Bugs
- Dialogs no longer change the fields, grids or help icons on the screen behind them, so the Inventory Snapshot tabs, Edit Planned Quantity and the forecast Display Options Series list work as expected.
- The Minimum Typical Order Qtys box in Default Statistical Safety Stock Settings now shows and saves its value.
- The Order Status Warnings on the Home screen's Purchase tab respect the primary supplier filter again.
- Forecast Analysis no longer leaves out bottom-level rows and now works for the Yearly and Quarterly intervals.
- New items now get Class N correctly when classing is done at the site-group level.
- Syncing on-hand transfers to several spokes no longer creates duplicate transfers.
- Place Orders, Merge Orders and Inventory Balancing now show one clear message with a Reload button when a setting fails to load, instead of loading partway.
- Snowflake extracts no longer fail when a column name is a reserved word such as GROUP.
- The Customers chart now combines a customer's ship-tos that share a name into one series, so its totals are correct.
- Buttons beside a panel title no longer spill into the panel below it.
- Edison's weeks of supply breakdown now counts every item, and its Burn Down insight describes the one-year value correctly.
- Edison now answers questions about "my" items across everything you can see when no buyer is linked to your login, instead of asking which buyer you mean.
- MCP tools that format numbers and dates no longer fail.
- Edison briefing emails now notice when you change a subscription's filters, use the new owner's data access after a subscription is reassigned, and keep sending reliably for long-running subscriptions.
- Edison insight briefings, report analysis, Inventory Aging and SIOP now respect each user's permissions and site and supplier access.
- Edison insights and report subscriptions from Inventory Aging always describe current stock, even while the screen shows the Projected view.
- Highly seasonal forecasts now honor Previous Year Weight and Max Years History, stay centered on actual sales, and keep the peak months of the oldest year.
- Item-customer ship-to mappings and item-site replacements no longer overwrite past forecasts.
- Item-site replacements keep copying the forecast after a ship-to is remapped.
- Manual forecasts are no longer changed by an upgrade without anyone editing them.
- Leading indicators borrowed from a higher level are no longer drawn on, or recorded as adjusting, nodes that have no indicator data of their own.
- Forecast Manager's projected on-hand and total series stay on the chart when a Chart Data filter is applied.
- Forecast Manager no longer shows an error when it opens on the Seasonality tab with no node selected.
- Forecast Manager no longer fails when combining dependent forecasts for many nodes.
- Users with the Forecast View Only role can use the filters on Forecast Manager again.
- Calculate no longer stops when it reaches a replaced item-site's forecast node twice.
- A schedule lock that runs past the replenishment horizon is no longer silently ignored.
- Supplier filters carried in from drill-ins and saved views now apply on Inventory Balancing and Blanket PO's.
- The Expedite and Allocation wizards no longer show a Filters button that did nothing.
- Flat-file purchase order outputs and extracts include the cash discount code again, so their columns line up.
- Stockout counts now treat Buy To Order and Kanban order policies the same way on every screen, alert and the Buyer Scorecard.
- Loading a saved view on Stockouts no longer loses the default display options.
- The Executive Summary stockouts card and the Stockouts over-time chart now compare the same set of items.
- The Supplier Review and Supplier Performance insights now judge shortfalls by what was delivered, use the right evidence for the selected lead-time leg, and work on databases whose data stops at an earlier date.
- Clicking an alert count on the Planner Dashboard now opens the screen with the dashboard's filters and loads its data right away.
- The Alerts detail panel stays hidden until you select an alert.
- Very old or blank dates no longer cause errors when saving data.
- A resumed calculate no longer logs errors for item-sites that have a primary supplier.
- ERP-side data refreshes can save their staging settings again.
- Resume options on the Calculate screen now have short, clear labels, ask for confirmation, and are no longer offered after a later refresh has already succeeded.
- The System Status panel on Calculate, Import and Full Refresh shows the database and version again, and Refresh Data is disabled while a refresh is running.
- The Database Last Backed Up date now changes only when a backup succeeds.
- New users now appear in the Users grid on Manage Security.
- Edison access now comes from a new Edison User role, so you can turn Edison off for one user without removing their Standard User role.
- Buttons and menu items for actions you aren't allowed to take are now hidden or disabled, including Alerts settings, Bulk Edit Forecast Settings, the first Next button in Place Orders and Place Blankets, receipt exclusions, the Drop Ship Wizard, Add Lost Item Customer and Edison Preferences.
- Opening a screen you can't access now shows a clear message instead of a blank page, and an expired session opens the login page on its own.
- Item-level sales order history loads much faster, and the nightly calculate skips error statistics work it doesn't need.
- A model adjustment no longer replaces the seasonality the forecast chose with its own node's, and a new Adjust by seasonal ratios option spreads a units adjustment by the item's seasonality.
- Same-site transfer orders from your ERP no longer cause false reorder suggestions.
- Item-site custom field columns on On Hand Detail now show their values.
- Users with restricted data access can open a replaced item-site in Forecast Manager again.
- The Alerts screen no longer times out for users with restricted data access.
- Report analysis, report subscription and custom field screens now show the real error message when something goes wrong.
- Report subscription emails, including Edison briefings, now show when their data is from.
- Edison credit totals now include the full cost of report and briefing analyses.
- Focus Today briefings no longer include cost figures for owners who aren't allowed to view costs, and they describe their scope correctly for site-restricted and buyer-linked owners.
- Executive briefings no longer misread Weeks of Supply and Burn Down figures, and their totals now add up, with copied on-hand counted once.
- Edison and Claude connections through MCP handle more requests correctly: forecast snapshot questions work, and missing, out-of-range or malformed inputs get a clear message instead of an error.
