Welcome to the StockIQ MCP tool reference. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call tools in another system. The StockIQ MCP server publishes the tools listed here: forecasts, inventory positions, order suggestions, purchase history, executive summaries and a bounded set of planning settings all so that an assistant such as Claude, Codex or Cursor can answer questions from your live StockIQ data.
How to use the attached document
Every tool in the attached document below shows what it does and the parameters it accepts. In normal use you do not call these directly. Your assistant chooses the tool and fills in the parameters from what you ask it in plain language. This reference is for working out what is possible, reviewing what a token could reach, and troubleshooting a call that did not do what you expected.
Tools are grouped by category, matching the way they are filtered internally. Use the sidebar to jump to a category, or the index below to find a tool by name.
Reading the badges
Read-only tools retrieve data and change nothing. Write tools change data on your behalf; they require the same permission a user would need to make that change in the web application, several ask your assistant to show you a preview and get your confirmation first, and all of them are limited to five calls a minute per token. Permission required means the tool is gated on a named permission granted through the token's roles — if a tool is listed here but refused when called, that is usually what is missing, and the refusal names it. Not available to MCP tokens marks a tool that exists for signed-in users of the StockIQ web application but that an external client may not call at all.
Connecting
You will need an MCP token, created inside StockIQ by an administrator holding the Administer MCP Tokens permission, and an MCP-capable client. Your endpoint is your instance address with /mcp on the end, for example https://yourcompany.stockiqtech.net/mcp. See the Help Center article MCP Service — Getting Started for per-client setup, and MCP Service — Security and Data Handling for the authentication, authorization and data handling detail a security review needs. If the MCP add-on is not on your licence, the endpoint refuses every request — contact support@stockiqtech.com.
Keeping This Page Current
This page is generated from the StockIQ source at release time. If your instance is on a newer release than this article, it may have tools not listed here — ask your assistant to list its tools for the current answer, or contact support@stockiqtech.com.
