Summary
The On Hand Detail screen provides information about your on-hand levels for your organization. The screen, by default, focuses on current on-hand levels, but can also display past and projected levels.
StockIQ takes daily snapshots of inventory levels and other attributes for all item-sites, so in addition to the on-hand levels for an item-site, we also have daily snapshots of safety stock and max stock quantities so you can see trends for how values have changed over time.
We are also projecting inventory positions forward in time based on your forecasts, so we can predict future inventory levels over time, which can be useful for seeing how excess inventory will be diminished, reviewing predicted warehouse capacity constraints, and so on. It is important to note that these projected inventory levels conform to the projections made according to the item's order policy, e.g. if the item is not using a forecasted order policy, forecasted reductions in inventory are not made for those items.
Column Descriptions
-
Grid - the grid contains the on-hand detail for your selected tab, e.g. the item-site or site level detail. Each row contains:
- Date - the date in question. This can be daily, weekly, or monthly snapshot data.
- On Hand - the actual on-hand quantity.
- On Hand $ - the on-hand expressed in terms of your inventory value.
- Cubes On hand - on-hand represented as cubic volume total for that period.
- Pallets - the approximate number of pallets this inventory should occupy.
- Safety/Target/Max Stock - the safety stock and other Statistical Inventory values for the listed date.
- Safety/Target/Max Stock $ - the same values listed in terms of the inventory value.
- Chart - the chart shows your requested chart measure from the Display Options, limited to the max number of series listed in the Display Options (see below).
-
Pivot - the pivot-style grid allows you to easily sum some values from the detail available in the grid. You can add and remove fields from the totals using the field chooser, and export when you are happy with the layout.
- NOTE: This is only available for "Monthly" level data.
Context Menu
In the On Hand Detail screen, if you right click on a row, the following menu will appear:
- Inventory Snapshot - provides item-site attribute information.
- Forecast Chart - a visual of the item-site forecast, this is the same as what you would see in the Forecast Manager.
- Sawtooth Chart - the sawtooth diagram for this item-site.
- Item-Site Notes - notes related to this item-site.
Display Options
The display options control how the data available is displayed on your on-hand detail screen. Coupled with your filters, it allows a wide range of customization for the report screen.
-
Chart Measure - Controls what you want to be displayed on the chart, such as the on hand, on hand value, recommended safety stock balance, and so on.
- TIP: On Hand balance, coupled with a stacked bar chart, can be a very compelling graph at the hierarchy level.
-
Time Interval - Whether to show daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly, or weekly resolution to the data.
- NOTE: The Pivot Grid is not available in monthly or daily resolution.
- Chart Type - Controls the type of chart to be drawn, e.g. bar, stacked bar, line, etc.
- Max # Of Series To Chart - StockIQ will limit the number of series it charts to maintain readability. If you hit this limit, a small notification will be shown in the bottom right of the app when data is refreshed.
- Show Current Values - This means that your current-day values will be shown.
- Show Historical Values - Extend the data to include historical values for the length of history that StockIQ has. This is usually limited to 3 years of less of day-by-day historical data.
- Show Projected Values - Extend the data to also show projected future values, based on the order policy for each item. This will include future planned orders.
- Hierarchy Level - select the level of the hierarchy you want displayed when in the "By Hierarchy" tab.
Detail Tabs
- By Item-Site - on-hand detail is shown at the individual item-site level. This is the lowest level of resolution and is most useful for line-by-line analysis or export.
- By Site - on-hand detail is shown site-by-site. This is most useful for looking at site-level trends, and things such as looking at future warehouse capacity issues.
- By Shipper - on-hand detail shown at the shipper level, if applicable. In most cases this data won't be relevant since the shipper feature is uncommonly used in StockIQ.
- By ABC - on-hand detail shown at the ABC stratification level. This provides useful information across your different ABC classifications to review where most of your inventory lies.
- By Hierarchy Level - allows for looking at trends in aggregate, most usefully across product families or product groups. The level of hierarchy shown for the grid, chart, and pivot can be controlled using the Display Options (see below).
