Summary
The Lead Time Viewer is a screen to view the performance of lead time to individual products from your suppliers. For a supplier-level view, use the Vendor Scorecard instead. For this screen to be populated, StockIQ needs to be receiving receipt/shipment history data from your ERP.
It is accessible by clicking to Supply --> Lead Time Viewer
Column Description
At the top of the screen is a summary grid showing all item-sites in StockIQ, as well as all suppliers listed for those items. StockIQ can load up to 3 years worth of receipt history for your vendor, typically the last year is all that is used for calculating lead times for individual item-site-supplier combos.
NOTE: Date filtering is based on the order creation date, not the date of any receipt(s) that may exist for a given order.
In addition to the basic item/site/supplier identifiers, the grid contains the following columns:
- Supplier Name - An optional column that has the supplier's name
- # Receipts - An optional column showing the number of receipts from that supplier to the particular item-site displayed.
-
Supplier Level - This describes the level of priority for that supplier, e.g. primary, secondary, etc.
- Active - As with other places in StockIQ "Active" means this is what is being used after all data values and overrides are considered. So, this is the active supplier level in-use for this item-site-supplier combo
- ERP - This is the supplier level value provided by your ERP, if any
- Calculated - StockIQ's calculated suggestion on the supplier level recommended based on your supplier level settings (e.g. cost, LT, etc.)
- Active Lead Times - Active lead times are the lead times currently being used in your system. See the definitions of the different portions of overall lead time.
- ERP Lead Times - These are the lead times being extracted from your ERP system. Depending on your ERP, some or all of these may be missing, blank, or zero. This can be a useful screen for validating what you believe should be coming from the ERP system.
- SIQ Calculated Lead Times - These are the lead times being calculated by StockIQ, based on the receipt data that is being fed. Depending on your ERP, some or all of these may be missing, as not all ERP's have the ability to track the order creation, release, shipment, dock, and putaway dates necessary to calculate all these values.
Detail Tabs
The different tabs of the Lead Time Viewer show details about the vendor you currently have selected in the performance overview grid. All of these values are filtered according to your input filters, so you can view the data for only your requested time period.
Overview Tab
This provides a form-layout for the values shown in the summary grid, so that you can more easily view your individual active lead times, ERP-provided lead times, and calculated lead times.
In addition, the Safety Stock Lead Times are shown. These will usually be the same as your active planning lead times, but if you have the option enabled to plan to stated ERP lead times enabled, you have the ability to stock to a different lead time than what you are planning receipts against. See Global Lead Time Settings
The Lead Time Calculation header shows some settings on how StockIQ is calculating its lead times:
- # Receipts Counted - show how many receipts were counted for calculating lead times. Receipts are not counted if they are missing critical fields, or if the dates are bogus (e.g. ship date before order date, etc.).
- Min # Receipts - Shows the minimum number of receipts required before StockIQ will calculate a lead time.
- Max Days Receipts to use - The max # of days to use, on the logic that more recent data is more useful for calculating lead times. Typically this is one year, 365 days.
- Max % Change from ERP LT - This is a sensibility check, to make sure StockIQ is not responding to bogus data in the receipts, to ensure we do not calculate a 0 or 1,000 day lead time. Limiting the percentage change from the ERP lead time will keep things in the range of reasonable values, even if the data is poor.
- Always use ERP LT for Transfers - Sets whether or not to use ERP stated LT, or SIQ calculated LT's for transfer orders
- Plan To Calculated Lead Times - usually true, sets whether or not dates placed on PO's are allowed to follow the SIQ calculated lead times, or, if false, if the PO dates must match vendor quoted lead times. (SIQ will still safety stock according to the Active Lead Time regardless)
Histogram Tab
This tab shows a breakdown of receipts by how many days early and late they are. With enough data, this will usually start to converge on a bit of a bell curve, to show the approximate mean and standard deviation of the vendor's performance. This is based on their delivery to your dock, not the end-to-end putaway time (as they are not responsible for your own putaway delays, if any).
Receipts Tab
This tab shows every single receipt used for measuring the vendor during the time period you've filtered. MANY columns of information are available, see the Receipts Detail Grid topic. You can add/remove/change/group columns in this grid as much as you like and also export it to Excel for additional analysis.
Lead Time Calculations Tab
This tab is a grid showing lead times for the various combinations of lead time data sets that StockIQ evaluated for your lead times. The rows you may see, depending on data available for the Lead Time Calculations are:
- Active Lead Times - the active lead times in use
- Calculated Lead Times - the final calculated lead times that StockIQ came up with after all filtering, capping, etc.
- Item-Site-Supplier - lead time values calculated by item-site-supplier, if enough data was available.
- Supplier-Site - lead time calculations by supplier-site grouping if enough data was available
- Supplier - lead time calculations with receipt data grouped by supplier.
Groupings of lead time values are shown:
- Counted Receipts - The number of receipts counted within this grouping
- Final Lead Times - End-result lead times for that grouping/cohort, after filtering/capping of values is applied, according to Global Lead Time Settings.
- Filtered Average Lead Times - Each of your lead times after the outlier filtering from Global Lead Time Settings was applied
- Raw Average Lead Times - Each of your lead time average values for all counted receipts, before any outlier filtering was applied.
