Summary
Order Cycle Overrides allow you to override the Order Cycle settings in StockIQ for a specific combination of Supplier and Site, to tailor planning for individual combinations.
For example, you may wish to apply different order cycles or order cycle rules for your import vendors versus your domestic vendors, since often your order/review frequency on import vendors will be less frequent due to container and shipping constraints than those from your domestic vendors.
You can access the Order Cycle Overrides screen by clicking Admin --> System Configuration --> Order Cycle Settings Overrides.
You can learn more about order cycles and how they work in the Order Cycles topic. For setting system defaults, see the Default Order Cycle Settings topic.
Column Description
To add an override, click the "+" icon at the right hand side of the overrides grid. A new row will appear.
- Supplier - The supplier for which you want to create the override
- Category - The supplier item category (e.g. product line) for this order cycle override. Most often this is left blank.
- Site - The site for this order cycle combo
-
Cycle Type - The type of cycle rule you want used:
- None - No special order cycle (e.g. 1 day order review frequency)
- Fixed - The order/review cycle should be a fixed number of calendar days
- EOQ Based - An EOQ-style calculation will be run for the total activity for items from this vendor, trading off the usage of items at this vendor, their costs, and an EOQ result.
- Minimum-Based - An order cycle will be derived based on supplier minimums for this supplier/category/site combo. For example, if a supplier has a $10,000 order minimum, and it takes you approximately 20 days to have a large enough order that would represent $10,000, then your order cycle should also be about every 20 days.
- Fixed Order Cycle Length - If you selected the "Fixed" mode in your cycle type, here is where you enter the number of days for your order cycle.
When you are done, click the "Save" link. Unless you have a need to immediately re-plan or re-order these items, you can answer "No" to StockIQ's question about recalculating. If you answer "Yes", StockIQ will immediately replan these items, which can take a few moments depending on the size of your catalog.
