Since most ERP systems have a lot of old data floating around, StockIQ does some activity filtering on your items to make sure they have a reason for being in StockIQ. This ensures that StockIQ is not running calculations on old items and thereby keeps the system running as fast as possible.
IMPORTANT: This filtering is done on the data provided to StockIQ from your ERP extracts. There may be additional filters in your extracts that are also excluding certain parts, so if none of the below explain the missing part problem, please contact StockIQ to see if it is being filtered out on the extract side, before StockIQ ever sees it.
An item will be kept active in StockIQ if any of the following are true:
- There is a nonzero on-hand quantity
- It has been on an order in the last 3 years
- It has a safety stock specified in the host ERP system
- There are open supply orders (transfers, PO's, or workorders)
- It replaces an item
- It is replaced by an item
- It is in a Hub/Spoke relationship and the spoke is active
- It is part of a BoM, and a higher level of the BoM is active
- It has a lead time override
- It has a safety stock override
- Somebody has specifically created a forecast for the item using the "Add Forecasts" window
- A manual forecast is in place
- The item is new, according to its DateCreated and your Item New Days in Inventory Limits
If none of those conditions are true, the item will be marked as Inactive, and will not appear in any of StockIQ's normal screens.
You can see if the item is in StockIQ, but marked as Inactive, by going to the Data --> Inactive Records screen. Click on the "Item" or "Item Site" tabs, and you may see your item there.
You can specifically activate an item using the Inactive Records screen, but to keep it active you must take one of the actions specified above, or it will be deactivated at the next refresh of StockIQ.
If you are wondering why your item is in StockIQ, but does not appear in Forecast Manager, see Why don't I see my item in Forecast Manager?
