Summary
This tab controls your Lost Sales Settings.
The settings that apply to the item or hierarchy that you're currently viewing show here. As with other hierarchy-related settings, they will show if the setting is default, override, or inherited, as well as the level at which the control is coming from (This level, above, or below).
StockIQ will always estimate lost sales based on periods of time that you are out of inventory, so therefore the only option with Lost Sales is whether or not you want the lost sales values applied to your statistical forecast or not.
Settings
Calculate Only: StockIQ will calculate estimated lost sales and display them on the chart for your information / awareness, but they are not given to the statistical forecast algorithm
Calculate And Apply: StockIQ will provide calculated lost sale information to the forecast algorithm so that it is taken into account when generating your forecasts.
% To Apply: You may not wish all lost sales to be used and applied, so the "% To Apply" allows you to prorate how much of the lost sale is applied by some percentage. For example, if StockIQ calculates 10 units of lost sales for a particular stockout, you may know that on average, 40% of those just re-purchase later, whereas only 60% turn into true lost sales. In this case, you'd use 60% as your value, and the 10 units would be reduced to 6 additional units of sales for the "lost sales" sent to the forecasting algorithm.
Add a note if you wish and click "Save" to save your settings, or if you have previously saved an override, you can delete the settings.
NOTE: Defaults can be adjusted using the "Default Lost Sales Settings" screen in the System Configuration.
