This article walks through how to configure supplier holidays
Applies To
Clients who have supplier holidays, typically used for Chinese New Year holidays
Process
StockIQ allows you to provide the tool with information about holidays you expect at your Suppliers.
Normally, these are times when your vendor has informed you they will be closed, such as on major holidays, or frequently, for Chinese New Year if they are overseas/Asian vendors.
The assumptions made by StockIQ on your Supplier holidays are as follows:
- Demand Continues: Even though your supplier is closed, you remain open, and must continue to service demand
- No Supply Orders can be placed: StockIQ does not schedule release of any PO's on a Supplier holiday, since there's nobody there to receive your order.
- No Supply Orders can be shipped: Nor does StockIQ schedule a PO such that it would have to ship when the supplier is closed, since nobody is there to receive the order.
- Supply orders can be received: If the supplier is able to ship your order before they shut down, then you can certainly still receive the order they sent, since you are open even when they are closed.
You can configure these holidays using the Default Supplier Calendar in the System Configuration, and configure individual site holiday schedules using the Supplier Calendar Overrides screen.
