Summary
This article walks through how an item's usage pattern is assigned as Dead or Slow.
Applies To
All items in StockIQ
Process
Two of the Usage Patterns that StockIQ calculates for your items are "Slow" and "Dead".
Dead Stock
Dead Stock is defined as any item that has experienced no demand within the threshold for dead items set in your Inventory Limits screen. Typically this is set to 1 year (365 days), but as low as six months or as high as two years are reasonable limits.
IMPORTANT: Both independent demand (in the form of orders or invoices) and dependent demand from assemblies or spokes are counted for the purposes of determining if the item has any activity.
Slow Movers
Slow Moving items are items that are moving slowly and are in danger of becoming dead. Typically this is items with fewer than 3 hits in the last 180 days (six months), but both of these thresholds are configurable in the Inventory Limits screen as well.
