Definition
The Projected Excess Alert will notify you when items are projected to be excess either within lead time, or due to whatever open supply you have between now and the last arriving open order.
The goal is to help identify, in an automated way, when items are going to be in excess, so that you can cancel or de-expedite orders as necessary
The main screen for the Projected Excess Alert is the Projected Excess Screen screen, where you can see these de-expedite recommendations and take other action.
You can find settings for this alert by clicking the Alerts button in the Projected Excess screen. You can also see alert priority definitions there as well.
The Projected Excess Alert Settings control when you see alerts or not for items that are projected for a stockout or below panic point.
- Generate only for Primary Supplier- Recommended so that you only see this for your primary supplier, which sets your normal replenishment lead time and replenishment plan.
- Min Projected Excess Balance- Minimum dollars/value above the excess threshold to generate an alert.
- Min Projected Excess - Minimum units above the excess threshold before an alert is generated
