Definition
The Safety Stock Lead Time, shown in the Safety Stock Tab among other locations, is the lead time used for safety stock calculations.
Most often this is the same as your Planning Lead Time.
However, if you are using StockIQ calculated lead times, you may be forced by vendor agreements to have planning lead times based on their quoted lead times. Yet, you want to make sure you're stocking to what they are *actually* performing to, so your safety stock lead time can instead be the SIQ calculated lead times if you set the "Plan to Calculated Lead Times" option in Global Lead Time Settings
Additionally, you may wish that we calculate safety stock based on Cumulative Lead Time, meaning that SS calculations are based on a number different from the planning lead time.
Finally, safety stock LT can be extended when you are using Vendor Order/Shipment/Delivery schedules, since the fixed periods of order arrival can temporarily extend your actual delivery responsivenes.
