Process
Vendor Schedules are specific rules where you define the order, shipment, or delivery schedule for a particular vendor and site combination. They can be configured in the Default Vendor Schedules and Vendor Schedule Overrides screen in StockIQ.
Examples include vendor that have defined ship schedules from their port, or regularly scheduled trucks that may stop at your warehouse on a known cadence or schedule.
Schedules can be one of three types:
- Order Schedule - Ordering is done on a schedule of some kind, so the dates you have are the dates that the order must be placed. StockIQ will schedule receipts to match up so that releases land ONLY on the days you can order.
- Shipment Schedule - Shipping is done on a known schedule. StockIQ will schedule releases and receipts such that the corresponding ship dates match up to the shipping schedule. NOTE: You must have good, valid shipping and manufacturing lead times in your StockIQ data for this to work well.
- Delivery Schedule - Orders arrive only on certain days. StockIQ will schedule releases such that your order will be placed on days that are 1 lead-time away from your delivery date.
IMPORTANT: Auto-Ordering may only be used with Order Schedules.
TIP: Even when using vendor schedules, if you want to have StockIQ show you order quantities for what you will need upon the next order/ship/delivery day, you can use the appropriate checkbox in the Place Orders Display Options
TIP: These are similar to, but different in a few key ways from Order Cycles, see the Order Cycle topic for a comparison of the two.
