Summary
This article walks through how to use the Edit Production Dialog in the Capacity Planning screen.
Process
The Edit Production dialog is accessible from the Capacity Planning screen, and is meant to allow you to modify your production. You will typically do this via:
- Moving planned production from one bucket to another
- Reducing the planned production amount.
When you first load the box, if you have selected a single item to load the box, it will show you the planned quantity, as well as the corresponding resource consumption of that quantity according to that item's consumption rate. Additionally, it will show you some basics about that item, such as its order mins, multiples, UoM's and so on.
If you have selected multiple items, this item-specific information is not shown
NOTE: When you select multiple rows, you cannot make quantity changes, you can only move those planned resource loads between capacity buckets.
When the screen first loads, it will show all capacity buckets into which you can move the item production. These will be all buckets where the ship date is at or beyond lead time for the item. StockIQ will pre-select the capacity bucket that your item is currently in, and show a blue note that you're still in your same bucket.
You can change the quantity and keep production in the same time period, change the bucket, or move only some of the production from one bucket to another.
You can edit either the quantity or the capacity usage. StockIQ will back-calculate the consumption into a valid item quantity (that satisfies minimums and multiples) and adjust the screen accordingly.
When you are done, click "Move Production", and StockIQ will update the resource load display back in the main Capacity Planning screen.
