Summary
The Import Events screen will allow you to bulk-upload events. You can access it by clicking Forecast --> Import Events.
Step 1: Select Options & Upload File
First, you must make the file that you wish to upload, and then upload it. In the bottom half of the screen, under the "Import File Format" header, is a template that you can use to help you build your import.
Each line of the file represents a single period in a single event. StockIQ will group events for the same item, site, forecast group, and name into a single event object to make future management of those events easier within Forecast Manager and the Event Editor.
Once you have your file, click the "Select File..." button, navigate to the file on your hard drive, and upload it. If your file has headers in it, such as the template, ensure the "ignore header row" option is checked.
Most of the time you will be uploading events at the item-site-forecast group level, so you will want the Match mode" to be "Forecast Group", which is the default.
Once your file is uploaded, click "Next"
Step 2: Import Uploaded Data
In step 2, StockIQ will display what it has read from your file. Validate that this looks accurate, and if all looks good, click Next.
Step 3: Confirm Results
StockIQ will take the data and import it. This can take some time for large imports.
Evaluate the results and note any errors that StockIQ finds, such as not being able to match an item-site-forecast group.
IMPORTANT: The event import screen will not create events for item-site-forecast group combinations that do not already exist. These will be marked as errors.
Events that already exist with the same name for a given item-site-fg will be updated. The effects of the events will take effect immediately in Forecast Manager.
Troubleshooting
If you have errors in your file, StockIQ will generate a data grid with the errors and some message about the cause and record ids and numbers. It is helpful to export this grid to Excel.
