Summary
The New Part setup screen, aka Import Life Cycle Settings screen, allows you to bulk import life cycle settings.
This is particularly useful for setting up a large number of new items to use life cycles, be they short- or long-lived items. In this way, it becomes a great wizard for setting up new parts en-masse.
A template is available to import the life cycles you wish to set up.
The screen will tell you which item/hierarchy related fields you need to provide, but most often this will be just an item and site code for setting up a new item.
Options to Auto Adjust Peak Usage and Auto Revert to Statistical model employ AI to determine when to take action.
Column Description
At minimum, you will need to provide:
- Item Code
- Site Code
- Life Cycle Type - One of "Use Hierarchy Level" or "Custom" (or none, although that would be odd...)
- Hierarchy level Name - (e.g. "Site" or "Product Group") to use if you selected life cycle type "Use Hierarchy Level"
- Custom Life Cycle Name - if you specified custom life cycle
- Peak Period Usage - what you expect the high point for this product to be.
The other settings are as described in the template description area allowing you to tweak how these products will have their forecasts introduced and maintained as time goes on.
